Last year, Atonga media collaborated with John Paul II Justice and Peace Center to take film to some of the most marginalized refugee settlements in Uganda, Imvepi Refugee settlement in Terego district and Bidibidi refugee settlement in Yumbe. Today on Upclose With Eva Nakato, we sit down with Achura E Fredrick, the director of ‘NO BORDER’ and ‘ESCAPE’. These two short films talk about the life, struggles, and relationship between the refugees and their host communities.

1. NO BORDER
A Sudanese refugee Khalifa takes us through his life and the rejection he and other refugees face as they co-exist with the host community. He must go against all the odds to stand for his love for Florence a girl from a host family.
2. ESCAPE
Caught between life and death, a girl must choose between her abusive family or her freedom.
