WORLD PRESS FREEDOM: VICE VERSA MEDIA GHANA TAKES FLIGHT
World Press Freedom Day instituted by the United Nations, serves as a poignant reminder of the role played by the media in disseminating information. This quote by Kofi Annan; “Knowledge is power, and Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress in every society and in every family” emphasizes the power of information in driving progress but issues like misinformation, physical attacks, harassment and censorship threatens the proper dissemination of information.
Yet, in the face of these threats, organizations like Vice Versa Global emerged. With the vision of leading in the creation of a more equitable and just society through storytelling, Vice Versa Global ensures the rights to freedom of expression, and access to key sources of information, in addition to combating misinformation through journalism.
VICE VERSA MEDIA GHANA TAKES FLIGHT ON WORLD PRESS FREEDOM DAY.
Vice Versa Global is registered in Ghana as Vice Versa Media Ghana. Guided by the overarching mission and vision of Vice Versa Global, Vice Versa Media Ghana commenced its operations in January 2024. Within that time, the team has produced over 20 written articles, created over 5 audiovisuals and premiered the all-new monthly news program called “Beyond the Pole”.
To mark its official presence in the country, Vice Versa Media Ghana is hosting an Inaugural and Networking event. The event aims to announce its presence officially in Ghana and invites stakeholders, media partners, media personalities, and high-profile individuals to attend.
The event truly embodies the commitment to the establishment of World Press Freedom Day by opening avenues to create dialogues, promote youth involvement and engagement plus, giving people access to the right information.
Journalism in the Face of the Environmental Crisis.
The underlying theme for this year’s World Press Freedom Day is “A Press for the Planet: Journalism in the Face of the environmental crisis”.
This year, Vice Versa Global has already produced six (6) articles to that effect. Each article will be highlighted here and of course, you will be given access to read each one of them.
