Communities of Practice: Strengthening Local Philanthropy
Star Ghana Foundation, in partnership with the West Africa Civil Society Institute (WASCI) and with media support from Vice Versa Media Ghana, organized a quarterly reflection meeting for communities of practice on the 15th and 16th of May. The purpose of the meeting was to enhance the impact of local philanthropy and educate beneficiaries on the role of influencing and advocacy. This is essential for advancing the Giving for Change Project, which was initiated by the Wilde Ganzen Foundation.
The objective of this meeting was to reaffirm the commitment of the beneficiaries to the communities of practice initiative, share philanthropic experiences, and build capacity. The meeting included panel discussions and aimed to identify ways for individuals to better promote local philanthropy.
Participants covered topics such as the right to information, implementing fundraising strategies, and measuring and celebrating success. The discussions helped participants build stronger networks and gain valuable knowledge applicable to their specific philanthropic endeavors.
